Membership/Join: The Logistics
Membership in the La Soledad Classical Guitar Confraternity (LSCGC) is reserved for dedicated individuals committed to the study and performance of advanced classical guitar repertoire within a framework of disciplined self-reliance. To ensure the integrity and focus of our scholarly sanctuary, prospective members must submit a brief statement outlining their current practice goals and commitment to the LSCGC mission. While we do not impose a formal audition, candidates must demonstrate the technical and musical maturity required for continuous, independent work on advanced-level repertoire. The core requirement is the commitment to regularly utilize our private digital lab, actively logging solo practice metrics, adhering to injury prevention protocols, and participating in our formal, asynchronous video-review exchange. To begin the process, please submit your application via the intake form on this page, and a founder will reach out with your sanctuary access credentials and participation guidelines.
Joining the La Soledad Classical Guitar Confraternity (LSCGC) signifies a serious dedication to achieving performance excellence through disciplined self-reliance. Our fundamental requirements ensure a focused, uncompromised, and productive solo environment: Members must own a quality nylon-string classical guitar suitable for advanced repertoire. Crucially, members must commit to consistent independent tracking, diligently logging their technical metrics, adhering to ergonomic rest intervals, and preparing raw performance videos for formal, asynchronous peer critique. Finally, all members must actively direct their solitary study toward advanced skill development, rigorous self-evaluation, and challenging repertoire, demonstrating a deeply personal ambition to progress beyond intermediate levels and uphold the high artistic standard of the sanctuary.
Requirements for Membership
Schedule and Location
While our sanctuary is actively accepting new members, the nature of La Soledad values individual isolation and independent mastery over a fixed physical location. For this reason, we do not maintain a traditional, brick-and-mortar meeting space or a public calendar of events. Our core commitment, however, is to facilitate formal monthly asynchronous performance reviews and structured self-led milestones. To receive the schedule for upcoming submission deadlines, coordinate private evaluations, and gain access to our independent study guidelines, please use the Contact Form linked below. We look forward to guiding you on your solitary path toward performance excellence.
Our Ethos: Respect, Inquiry, and Autonomy
The foundation of the LSCGC is a strong ethical code rooted in self-respect, scholarly inquiry, and independent accountability. We are fundamentally a non-competitive, introspective environment where the primary goal is the individual pursuit of advanced artistry, entirely removed from rivalry or the need for external validation. Every asynchronous evaluation and solo interaction is governed by a commitment to rigorous, objective critique, focusing on uncompromising feedback that strips away complacency and refines the playing of the individual artist. We cultivate an atmosphere where challenging questions about technique, pathology, and historical interpretation are met with deep intellectual honesty, ensuring that all learning takes place in a spirit of quiet focus, absolute integrity, and unwavering dedication to the craft.
